Amber Alert issued for missing California girl: Cheyenne Bradford

(Previously published on my Examiner.com column here: Amber Alerts Examiner Charisse Van Horn)

An Amber Alert has been issued in California for a missing 13-year-old girl: Cheyenne Bradford. Authorities believe that Cheyenne left her home to meet with a man that she met on the Internet last Wednesday. Though Cheyenne Bradford has been missing for four days, the Amber Alert was issued this morning. The Amber Alert was issued after it was discovered that Cheyenne had spoken several times with 48-year-old David Bruton Egert (Dave) online.

Authorities say that after checking Cheyenne’s computer they discovered explicit conversations between Bradford and Egert. The messages were communicated via E-Mail and social media networks. It is believed that Cheyenne left her home somewhere around noon last Wednesday.

Though authorities did not describe Dave Egert as a sex offender, the OC Register reports that he is known to associate with registered sex offenders.

Cheyenne Bradford is a black girl with black hair and brown eyes. She stands 5’7” and weighs 105 pounds. David Burton Egert is a white male with blonde hair and his eye color is unknown. He stands 6’ and weighs 220 pounds. He is believed to be driving a light blue Toyota pickup, with a California license plate that reads: 4X02600.

If you have information regarding Cheyenne Bradford’s whereabouts, please contact Orange County Sheriff's Department at 1-714-647-7000.
