Holly Bobo case: Did man charged with student’s murder volunteer to search for her (photos, videos)

Holly Bobo was a 20-year-old nursing student
A shocking photo taken by the Daily Mail reveals a man who bears a striking resemblance to Zachary Rye Adams, who was charged on March 5, 2014, with the April 13, 2011, abduction and murder of 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo. The photo shows the man standing in a volunteer line preparing to join a search for Holly Bobo in the days following her disappearance. The article has a publication date of April 15, 2011, just two days after Bobo’s brother said he saw his sister, and who he thought was her boyfriend, walk into the woods together. It was the last time he would see her
alive. Authorities believe Zachary Adams forcibly took Bobo from her home, led her into the woods, then ultimately killed her. Bobo’s brother told authorities the man he saw was wearing camouflage. The man in the Daily Mail photo, not only looks like Zachary Adams, but was also wearing camouflage.

The idea that the man who allegedly abducted and killed Holly Bobo would have the audacity to volunteer with a search party of her family, friends and concerned citizens is extremely disturbing. Though it is impossible to say from
looking at a photo that the man in the volunteer line is 100%, unquestionably Zachary Adams, he does bear a close enough resemblance that it could be him. If in fact, Zachary Adams did murder Holly Bobo, as authorities state they can prove, and if in fact he did volunteer to search for her, what does that say about the type of person whom would commit such a crime.

Does it also indicate a possibility that other people involved in crimes are often at the scene of the crime within days of the act or joining search parties in order to “keep tabs” on their crimes? In Holmes’ “Profiling Violent Criminology ” we see that both the organized, non social offender and disorganized, asocial offender both return to the scene of the crimes. Did Holly Bobo’s killer return to the “scene of the crime” by volunteering in the search?

Speculation into the mind of Zachary Adams or searching for a motive into the abduction of Holly Bobo is a difficult task, as authorities have remained tight-lipped in what is still an ongoing and active investigation. There are witness reports that indicated Zachary Adams knew Holly Bobo and was seen following her approximately one week before she disappeared. Authorities have not released much information except for saying they believe they have enough evidence to win a conviction against Adams and that other people may possible be charged.

Here is the Daily Mail article and photo of the initial volunteers who went out on April 15, 2011. Compare them to the photos of Zachary Adams and share your thoughts.

  1. I don't think it's the same person. The neck length is different, the guy in line looks to have scarring or something going on between the mouth and jaw line, the guy in the pic also have eyes that look hooded, where as the mug shot of Zachary shows eyes that are not hooded and with lots of lid and brow bone. Plus line guy looks shorter than 6'3".
